Chapter 12 Shlokas 13, 14
अद्वेष्टा सर्वभूतानां मैत्र: करुण एव च।
निर्ममो निरहंकार: समदु:खसुख: क्षमी।।१३।।
सन्तुष्ट: सततं योगी यतात्मा दृढनिश्चय:।
मय्यर्पितमनोबुद्धिर्यो मद्भक्त: स मे प्रिय:।।१४।।
He who bears no enmity towards anyone, who is friendly and compassionate towards all, who is devoid of ego and possessiveness and views both joy and sorrow impartially; he who is forgiving and ever satiated, who is of firm resolve and ever established in Yoga, who has surrendered his mind and intellect unto Me, that devotee of Mine is extremely dear to Me.
Chapter 12 Shlokas 13, 14
अद्वेष्टा सर्वभूतानां मैत्र: करुण एव च।
निर्ममो निरहंकार: समदु:खसुख: क्षमी।।१३।।
सन्तुष्ट: सततं योगी यतात्मा दृढनिश्चय:।
मय्यर्पितमनोबुद्धिर्यो मद्भक्त: स मे प्रिय:।।१४।।
The Lord now says, “Listen! I shall now describe to you that devotee of Mine who is infinitely dear to Me.”
He who bears no enmity towards anyone, who is friendly and compassionate towards all, who is devoid of ego and possessiveness and views both joy and sorrow impartially; he who is forgiving and ever satiated, who is of firm resolve and ever established in Yoga, who has surrendered his mind and intellect unto Me, that devotee of Mine is extremely dear to Me.
Little one, the Lord is describing the one who is dear to Him. He is defining the attributes of His beloved devotee.
He who loves the Lord:
a) will not bear malice towards others;
b) will be the servitor of all;
c) will be the friend of all;
d) will strive to fulfil the desires of others;
e) will ever perform deeds in the spirit of yagya;
f) will remain absorbed in Love;
g) will be compassionate towards all;
h) will blame nobody for he is forgiveness itself.
The Lord says, “My devotee’s mind is ever fixed in Me.
1. I have become the nucleus of his life.
2. He has begun to gift his body to Me.
3. He is devoid of ego.
4. His relations are no longer his own nor does he claim any rights over them. He has left everything to Me and has thus become fearless.
5. He who is ever ready to gift his body to Me, any sorrow or happiness pertaining to that body are no longer his, they are Mine. Therefore it is easy for him to dwell in equanimity.
6. His mind and intellect are ever engaged in establishing Me in his heart.
Such a one seeks nothing for himself – he has come to Me only in order to give of himself. Actually he seeks nothing from Me either. Such a Supreme Yogi, who is ever satiated, is immensely dear to Me.”
The Lord states further, “How shall I describe such a devotee of Mine? His only aim is to give himself to me, even at the risk of self annihilation. He endeavours to embody Me within his mortal frame. He thus renders manifest what is in essence Unmanifest. What can I say in praise of such a devotee? I Myself reside in his heart; in fact, neither devotee nor devotion exist any longer; only I am to be found there. Even I cannot adequately praise the devotion of such a devotee; for when that elevated devotee attains the state of Godhood, I too, bow My head before him. What qualities shall I praise of one who is My very Self? Examine him and you will find that My essential core and My nature are an integral part of him.”
अध्याय १२
अद्वेष्टा सर्वभूतानां मैत्र: करुण एव च।
निर्ममो निरहंकार: समदु:खसुख: क्षमी।।१३।।
सन्तुष्ट: सततं योगी यतात्मा दृढनिश्चय:।
मय्यर्पितमनोबुद्धिर्यो मद्भक्त: स मे प्रिय:।।१४।।
भगवान कहते हैं, सुन! तुझे बताता हूँ कि मुझे अपना कैसा भक्त प्रिय लगता है।
शब्दार्थ :
१. जो किसी से द्वेष न करे,
२. सबके प्रति मैत्री भाव से वर्ते,
३. सबके प्रति करुणा पूर्ण हो,
४. ममत्व तथा अहंकार रहित हो,
५. दु:ख सुख में समचित हो,
६. जो क्षमावान् भी हो,
७. जो नित्य तृप्त हो,
८. जो दृढ़ निश्चयात्मक, नित्य योग में स्थित हो,
९. जिसने अपने मन बुद्धि मुझ पे अर्पित किए हों,
१०. जो मेरा ऐसा भक्त है, वह मुझे प्यारा है।
तत्त्व विस्तार :
नन्हीं! भगवान अपनी पसन्द बता रहे हैं। अपने भक्त के चिन्ह बता रहे हैं। जो भगवान से प्यार करेगा,
क) वह जग से द्वेष नहीं कर सकता।
ख) वह तो सबका चाकर है।
ग) वह तो सबका मित्र है।
घ) वह तो सबकी चाहना पूर्ति करता है।
ङ) वह तो नित्य यज्ञ करता है।
च) वह तो प्रेम में मदमस्त रहता है।
छ) वह तो करुणापूर्ण हो जाता है।
ज) गिले शिकवे वह क्या करेगा?
झ) वह तो क्षमा स्वरूप हो जाता है।
भगवान कहते हैं, ‘मेरा भक्त तो नित्य मुझमें ध्यान लगाये रहता है।
1. उसके लिए तो मैं ही प्रधान हो जाता हूँ।
2. वह तो अपना तन मुझे देने लगा है।
3. वह अहंकार नहीं करता।
4. उसके नाते भी अपने नहीं रह जाते, वह उन पर अधिकार नहीं रखता। वह सब मुझे सौंप देता है, इस कारण वह निर्भय हो जाता है।
5. जो मुझे अपना तन देने में तत्पर होता है, तब तनो सुख दु:ख उसके नहीं रहते। वह भी मेरे हो जाते हैं। इस कारण वह दु:ख सुख में सम ही होता है।
6. उसके मन बुद्धि निरन्तर उसके आन्तर में केवल मुझे स्थापित करने में लगे रहते हैं।
भाई! वह अपने लिए कुछ नहीं चाहता, वह तो मुझे भी अपना आप देने आया है। वास्तव में वह मुझसे भी कुछ नहीं चाहता है। वह नित्य तृप्त परम योगी, मुझे बहुत प्रिय है।’
भगवान कहते हैं :
‘मैं अपने भक्त की क्या कहूँ,
वह तो मुझसे भी कुछ न चाहे।
वह मुझे भी देने आया है,
राहों में चाहे वह मिट जाये।।
प्रकट मुझे वह करता है,
सप्राण तन मुझे दे करके।
निराकार साकार करे,
अपना आप ही दे करके।।
ऐसे भक्त की क्या मैं कहूँ,
वहाँ भक्ति नहीं वहाँ मैं ही रहूँ ।
भक्त गया भक्ति भी गई,
उसमें तो केवल मैं ही रहूँ।।
ऐसे भक्त की भक्ति को,
मैं भी नहीं सराह सकूँ ।
भगवान बने जब मेरा भक्त,
मैं भी सीस झुका ही दूँ ।।
क्या गुण गाऊँ भक्त के,
वह मेरा अपना आप है।
गर चाहो उसे तोल लो,
वहाँ मेरा ही तो स्वभाव है।।’
