Tuition Support

Tuition Support Classes

Without the support of Arpana’s tuition classes, a large portion of the children of Molar Bund would not attend school above the 4th or 5th standards, since they are from illiterate families who cannot help them when they do not understand their school work. Most such children drop out of school, unable to read and write, and fit only for the lowest jobs – many gravitating to anti-social activities.

To ensure that children of disadvantaged families are being educated, Arpana set up a tuition support program in the community centres allotted to them by the Government. Arpana teachers provide assistance in Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Hindi, English, and Communicative English to children who are either attending school, or had dropped out.

Arpana’s main objective is to keep these children in mainstream schooling. To do this, Arpana acts as a support system. Along with keeping up with class lessons in school, information regarding personal hygiene, cooperation and good manners is provided. Values are inculcated and the children are encouraged by inspiring stories, group discussions, etc.
