Quilts & Clothing Distribution

Arpana provides quilts to very poor families of Himachal Pradesh. These have proved invaluable, helping to meet the needs of beneficiaries during the bitterly cold winters in the Himalayan foothills.

Caring people in the UK have been providing funds for this project. Besides, generous people in the USA, after a prodigious amount of hard work and effort gathered together a large amount of good used clothes to be distributed to disadvantaged people. These were sent to Arpana in India in a Container.

Beneficiaries are identified through meetings with District officials and verified by Arpana’s team.

Arpana distributed the clothing by truck in 14 main distribution points and the programme benefited around 3,000 people.

We are extremely grateful to Lady Mohini Noon and all the friends who support her in her compassionate endeavour to provide warmth and comfort to isolated and poverty-stricken families in the remotest hamlets of Chamba.
