Legal Literacy

Arpana conducts Refresher workshops on legal literacy. In these trainings the issues like Labour Laws, Rape, Domestic Violence, and Dowry Laws are covered through real life cases, presented in the form of dramatic role-plays, revealing great suffering which could have been prevented or ameliorated through knowledge of the laws. This helped the workers realise how essential it is to carry this information into the villages. Arpana also organises trainings with the help of an NGO of New Delhi, MARG (Multiple Action Research Group), where the Police Act and Right to Information Act are discussed with the villagers.
