Arpana Health Centre, Delhi (Arpana Swasthya Kendra - ASK)

Since 2002, Arpana has been running community health and outreach programmes in Slum Resettlement Colonies of Gautampuri I and II, Molar Bund, New Delhi. By arrangement with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Arpana is running the health centre built by the World Bank. Monthly reports are submitted to the MCD and all health campaigns and activities under the IPP-VIII in the area are implemented through Arpana. |

Arpana has been able to provide regular health and medical services to cover a population of over 50,000 in Molar Bund and Aaligaon through Arpana Swasthya Kendra (ASK) and Mobile Outreach Programmes. The health centre provides special care to pregnant women through antenatal checkups, immunisations, ultrasound tests, medical guidance and essential supplements. Other health services include speciality clinics, eye care, dental care, diagnostic tests, child immunisation, mobile health and outreach clinics, and ambulance services. Arpana Swasthya Kendra provides this high quality health care through 2 staff doctors and speciality clinics run by 22 volunteer doctors. |

Dr. Rahul Gupta, an extremely popular and well regarded specialist in gastroenterology, is Arpana’s Honorary Medical Director at Molar Bund. He provides highly professional, energetic and value-based leadership to the entire team. Over 25,000 patients are seen annually by ASK doctors. The 22 volunteer doctors are motivated and organised by Arpana. |

At Arpana Swasthya Kendra, diagnostic facilities are provided at a very reasonable cost to the disadvantaged and marginalized populations of Molar Bund. Besides the excellent diagnostic and curative aspects, Arpana has its own pharmacy, ensuring that quality drugs are available. Trainings of all levels of health workers and of midwives are conducted. Weekly meetings are held for close networking/ teamwork between all the health workers’ outreach teams. |
